Well, some might ask what college admissions and the national pastime could have in common. As a baseball enthusiast, I find it a fascinating comparison. I spent many years playing the sport and later managing youth baseball teams. At the beginning of each game, it was my responsibility to make the lineup. The fielding position of my players was rarely in question. However, the batting order was a much more complicated issue. I had to consider who was most likely to get on base by getting a hit against the opposing pitcher. Some hitters were more productive against right-handed pitchers rather than left-handers.
